Część tryptyku "Tylko dla dziewczyn"
Spektakl pod tytułem “Czerwona Rzeka” to kobiecy krąg baśniowej opowieści, celebrującej kobiecą cykliczność. Teatralna podróż inicjacyjna, osnuta wokół sacrum i profanum kobiecej krwi.
Part of the trilogy "For Girls Only"
Red River is a theatrical performance that creates a women's circle through a fairy tale–like narrative celebrating the cyclical nature of womanhood. It is an initiatory theatrical journey woven around the sacred and the profane dimensions of menstrual blood. The performance invites girls and women into a shared space of tenderness and presence, encouraging them to explore and embrace what remains alive within them in relation to this deeply personal experience.

Międzynarodowy zespół aktorów z Polski, Włoch i Kanady łączy siły, aby zbadać kruchą więź między miłością a nienawiścią, braterstwem a konfliktem. Łącząc monologi, dialogi, poezję i tradycyjne korsykańskie pieśni polifoniczne (nauczone we współpracy z Cunfraternita di U S.S.
Elegia | Jubilo
An international ensemble of actors from Poland, Italy, and Canada comes together to explore the fragile bond between love and hatred, brotherhood and conflict. Blending monologues, dialogues, poetry, and traditional Corsican polyphonic songs (learned in collaboration with the Cunfraternita di U S.S. Crucifissu di A Pieve di A Serra), Elegia invites the audience into an immersive journey on the human condition in times of war, and on the extraordinary yet fragile gift of peace. At the heart of the performance is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Greek chorus – a collective voice that resonates as dialogue, memory, and resistance. The words of poets Trilussa and Wisława Szymborska weave together with theatrical texts to form a cultural act of resistance: an elegy for peace beyond all borders.

„Bez skrzydeł/Wingless” to nowy projekt performatywny Fundacji Jubilo.
Wingless | Jubilo
“Bez skrzydeł/Wingless” is a new performative project of Jubilo Foundation. As in the group’s recent productions (the triptych “On the Other Side,” “On the Other Side – Passage,” “On the Other Side – Concert for Piano and Silence”), the performance explores the theme of freedom in an individual context, but also in a broader perspective – society, relationships, etc. The first stage of the work was based on the observation of migratory birds. The attempt is to transfer the behavior of birds to active stage action. Main themes of the exploration are the desire for flight, nostalgia for imaginary ancestral freedom and a possible return to a state of lightness. The dramaturgy is developed by using Aristophanes’ “Birds,” legends of Sufi traditions, polyphonic songs from Corsica and Armenia, and composed music based on ancient Babylonian inscriptions. Through movement, speech and song, the four performers embody the arrival on earth of four winged beings, their difficult journey through narrow borders and their attempt to find a new form of freedom.

The Mermaid: Anatomy of Love | Wrocław Contemporary Theatre
Zuzanna Bojda / Amanda Lee Koe
Drawing on the aesthetics of magical realism, this production tells the story of an "outsider." Rejected and bullied by his peers, a transgender boy searches for his own gender identity. As he comes of age, he experiences his first desires and humiliations. In a world of lonely people, he longs for unconditional love and the chance to be loved. As an adult, he is forced to confront his former abuser once again. The production brings together realistic characters and hybrid figures drawn from mythology, intertwining the human world with the world of plants to create a poetic and dreamlike theatrical landscape.
The performance features live music performed by composers Aleksandra Gronowska and Michał Litwiniec.

„Ogromną rolę w projekcie odgrywa muzyka. Jest równorzędnym partnerem aktorów. Utalentowany Michał Litwiniec potrafi zagrać na każdym instrumencie. Niczym kapłan tajemniczego obrzędu wydobywa z przedmiotów niepokojące dźwięki. Aleksandra Gronowska śpiewa, jakby oddychała. Oboje w skupieniu toczą porywające dialogi z aktorami i rozwijają z nimi słowno-muzyczne narracje.”
"Music plays an essential role in this production. It is an equal partner to the actors. The immensely talented Michał Litwiniec seems capable of playing any instrument. Like a priest conducting a mysterious ritual, he conjures unsettling sounds from everyday objects. Aleksandra Gronowska sings as naturally as if she were breathing. Together, with remarkable focus, they engage in captivating dialogues with the actors, weaving spoken and musical narratives into a seamless whole."

"All of this is enriched by absolutely outstanding live music performed by Aleksandra Gronowska and Michał Litwiniec, who make use of a range of unconventional instruments. Their performance does far more than provide an atmospheric soundtrack to the actors' work—it frequently comes to the forefront in its own right."

Wydaje się ona z jednej strony wpisywać postaci w określony rytm i tempo, niejako narzucając sposób ruchu (…), a z drugiej przynosi widzowi poczucie wytchnienia i spokoju (…).
"The production's diversity is particularly compelling in the scenes accompanied by the live music of Aleksandra Gronowska and Michał Litwiniec. On one hand, the music seems to inscribe the characters into a specific rhythm and tempo, almost dictating the way they move (...). On the other, it offers the audience moments of relief and tranquility (...). This contrast could, of course, be interpreted in relation to the director's exploration of the tension between culture and nature. Yet I have the impression that, in The Mermaid, the music possesses an autonomous artistic value entirely of its own."

"I have saved my greatest admiration and deepest respect for last—for the creators of the musical score. Michał Litwiniec and Aleksandra Gronowska are not merely an accompanying ensemble; they are the living tissue of this performance, a sensitive musical organism that listens, responds, and breathes with every moment on stage."

Speak About Yourself, Only Yourself | Wrocław Pantomime Theatre
Inspired by Tadeusz Różewicz's short story "Sin"
Tadeusz Różewicz's short story "Sin" serves as the inspiration for an exploration of whether traces of the post-war model of upbringing, marked by trauma, continue to shape the ways we build relationships today. What are the intergenerational consequences of emotional neglect? How is the silence surrounding the experience of war still passed down from one generation to the next? "Speak About Yourself, Only Yourself" can be understood both as a desperate manifesto born of the impossibility of truly understanding another person and as a call for an honest confrontation with oneself. Here, silence becomes a painful strategy for survival. Immersed in the routines of everyday domestic life, the characters enact unspoken conflicts, projections, and desires, revealing the emotional tensions that lie beneath the surface of ordinary existence.

„(…) Zamiatanie szybko przeistacza się w porywającą choreografię banalnej codzienności, a wszystko to rozgrywa się w metafizycznym pejzażu dźwiękowym. Borkowskiemu towarzyszą w zamiataniu trzy znakomite muzyczki. Patrycja Betley dmie w tradycyjny instrument chiński z tykwy. Betley to wybitna multi-perkusjonistka.
"(...) Sweeping the floor quickly transforms into a captivating choreography of everyday life, all unfolding within a metaphysical soundscape. Borkowski is accompanied by three outstanding musicians. Patrycja Betley plays the traditional Chinese hulusi, a gourd wind instrument. Aleksandra Gronowska creates music with her voice. Katarzyna Kapela experiments with the violin. The juxtaposition of mundane daily routines and deeply spiritual music works brilliantly. As in Różewicz's poetry, ordinary domestic activity becomes a form of philosophy. Betley, an exceptional multi-percussionist, gradually conjures magnificent polyrhythmic fugues. Gronowska explores archaic vocal techniques and breath work, and in one scene transforms into a Mongolian shaman, singing overtone harmonies in dialogue with herself. Kapela interweaves the first outlines of melodies on the violin."

"Special attention should be paid to the live music. The three musicians perform on a wide array of instruments, combining strings, electronics, and found objects. They do far more than create an ambient soundtrack—they provide a counterpoint to the stage action and enrich it. The music is inseparably fused with the actors' movements; every sound has been meticulously integrated into the choreography and resonates alongside it. The collaboration between the musicians and the mimes is extraordinary. It is truly a collaboration, not a competition for the audience's attention. The trio seems to dance together with the performers on stage, and witnessing their shared work is immensely rewarding. Wrocław's stages have not seen such an attentive, responsive, deeply connected ensemble—one that seems to breathe as a single organism for an entire hour—in a very long time."

To niebywałe! „
"The live music performed by Aleksandra Gronowska, Patrycja Betley, and Katarzyna Kapela is phenomenal. The sounds of countless instruments—many of which I had never even known existed—accompany every smallest movement. They are inseparably connected to the performers' actions and dedicated to them. It is astonishing. The music imitates everything the actors do, from the sound of breathing while touching their hair to the opening and closing of drawers. Every moment is densely layered. This wordless theatre employs an extraordinary range of expressive means with remarkable precision, never overwhelming the audience or overshadowing the superb acting. This is not merely an engaging performance—it is an extraordinary musical feast. These immensely gifted artists are simply hypnotic."

"(...) The musical trio of Patrycja Betley, Aleksandra Gronowska, and Katarzyna Kapela is absolutely brilliant. It has been a long time since I have witnessed such a creative coexistence between actors and musicians. Together they create the sound of an entire orchestra, producing everything from subtle sonic textures that help shape the theatrical space to exquisitely beautiful melodies with an almost ethnic, meditative quality. There is even a moment when Aleksandra Gronowska, like a Mongolian shaman, sings using overtone techniques—and suddenly the performance reaches pure metaphysics. (...) There are only three musicians, yet they sound like a full orchestra. At the same time, they never steal the spotlight. They are so attuned to the actors that when an actor takes a breath, they breathe with them. It is impossible to describe—you simply have to experience it."

"The music, performed live from beginning to end, completes the entire production. The talent of these women is extraordinary—they immerse themselves in the story, working alongside the actors to convey its deepest intentions. Significantly, these are not familiar pieces repurposed for the stage. Instead, the music becomes an equal partner to the performers, expressing thoughts and emotions the characters cannot articulate aloud. It shapes the tempo and rhythm while masterfully building and releasing dramatic tension.
The musicians themselves also deserve special recognition. Aleksandra Gronowska, Patrycja Betley, and Katarzyna Kapela bring remarkable energy and remain intensely attentive to every development on stage, allowing the performance to remain alive throughout its more than hour-long duration. The sonic world of the production is unmistakably experimental. Alongside musical instruments, the performers use the human voice as an instrument in its own right. Repeated vocal patterns, breath work, and expressive cries respond directly to the actors' movements. The concentration visible in the musicians' eyes as they react to every shift in the performance is a testament to extraordinary ensemble work. The overall effect is nothing short of magical."

"Zwykłe dźwięki" to też muzyka. My tu proponujemy dialog muzyki z grą aktorską. Podczas pracy nad tą premierą cały czas konsultowaliśmy z aktorami naszą muzykę. Proponujemy coś a oni reagują, nasza muzyka ich inspiruje, a oni nas. W przypadku tego spektaklu, najczęściej to oni nas inspirują - tłumaczy Gronowska.”
"'Ordinary sounds' are music as well. In this production, music encompasses the entire sonic landscape of everything that happens on stage. Everything we do becomes part of the score, even when the instruments recreate the sounds of objects used by the characters but invisible to the audience. In the scene where a couple unfolds a dining table, the table itself is amplified so that every creak and movement becomes part of the music," explains Aleksandra Gronowska, co-composer of the live score. "Our work with the actors was a shared creative process, because the performance and the music exist as equal partners. That is a fundamental difference from simply playing recorded music. What we offer is a dialogue between music and acting. Throughout the rehearsal process we constantly discussed our music with the actors. We proposed ideas, they responded; our music inspired them, and they inspired us. In this production, more often than not, it was they who inspired us."

Spektakl filozoficzny
TAO: The Way of the Dragon | School of Martial Fan Dance
A Philosophical Performance
The Dragon is a humble librarian at the court of a king of the Zhou dynasty. He does not see his work as a prison, but follows his own path—the Tao. His only true possession is wisdom.
When the Dragon decides to leave the kingdom, the Guardian at the border orders him to write down all of his wisdom. This becomes his passage to a hermitage among the Hangu Hills. Thus, the words of the Daodejing—the timeless foundational text of Taoism—come into being.
This journey into the philosophy of the Far East offers a compelling reflection on the greatest challenges of the contemporary West. The contrast between tranquility and chaos, the relentless pace of urban life, synchronization, productivity, and the pursuit of power and possessions is set against the need to pause, seek balance, and live in harmony.
The performance features live music composed and performed by Aleksandra Gronowska, Patrycja Betley, and Justyna Jary.

SNOW QUEEN: The Ritual of Thawing Hearts | Aurora Collective
A performance in the windows
The Snow Queen beautifully illustrates the difference between the path of reason and the path of the heart. We can spend a very long time analyzing everything, or we can take action. The Collective chooses action, just like Gerda, says Aleksandra Cieślak, the initiator and dramaturg of the performance. As she explains, she continues the work because: “We all need to release our emotions, to feel a sense of community, to thaw. True power lies within us, in grassroots initiatives, in taking action with respect for every living being. We manifest the reality in which we want to live.”
"When we come to the end of this story, we shall know more than we do now, for it was a bad troll, one of the worst, the very worst — ‘the Devil.’ One day he was in an especially good mood, because he had made a mirror which had this property: everything good and beautiful that was reflected in it almost vanished, while everything that was ugly and worthless appeared clearly and became even more horrible. The most beautiful landscapes looked in it like cooked spinach, the finest people became hideous, or else they stood on their heads, their bodies disappeared somewhere, and their faces were so distorted that they were hardly recognizable."

Ola, Anna Chiara, Simona, Irina, Alessandra, Rosaria.
Jakie historie mogą sobie nawzajem opowiedzieć i jakie historie mogą opowiedzieć innym? A przede wszystkim — czy mają wspólną historię do opowiedzenia?
Obrazy, tańce, muzyka i słowa mieszają ze sobą niemożliwe, ruchome, płynne tożsamości. Nieprzewidywalne iskry znaczeń. Wszystkie mają nierozliczone sprawy ze swoją ojczyzną, wszystkie mają nierozliczone sprawy ze swoimi ojcami.
Przepraszam, tato… przepraszam… Chciałam tylko wiedzieć, ile czasu mi zostało. Ile czasu zostało mi do życia… i jak. […]
Bardziej niż wywiady były to sesje psychoanalityczne. Poprosiłem je, aby opowiedziały mi, kiedy naprawdę się bały, a kiedy czuły się bezpiecznie.
Strach jest dominującym uczuciem naszych czasów. Dlaczego? Ponieważ tak wiele posiadamy. Przede wszystkim rzeczy.

Six girls. Six young actresses selected during a series of workshops conducted by Koreja throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Six young women meet at one of the many crossroads of the present. Those non-places we pass through without seeing.
Ola, Anna Chiara, Simona, Irina, Alessandra, Rosaria. Three are Italian, one is Polish, one is Bulgarian, and one is Macedonian. They all speak more or less English.
What feelings do six girls of different nationalities nurture when they communicate through a common, superficial language? Do they share memories? What stories can they tell one another and tell others? And, above all, do they have a common story to tell?
Images, dances, music and words churn together impossible, shifting, fluid identities. Unpredictable sparks of meaning. All of them have unfinished business with their homeland; all of them have unfinished business with their fathers.
“Sorry, Dad… I’m sorry… I just wanted to know how much time I have left. How much time I have left to live… and how.” […]
I conducted long interviews with the six girls and recorded them on video. More than interviews, they were psychoanalytic sessions. I asked them to tell me about the times when they had truly been afraid, and when they had felt safe.
Fear is the dominant feeling of our time. Why? Because we possess so much. Mostly things. And so we are afraid that others, that the rest of the world — to which we have taken so much of what we possess — will send us the bill. We are afraid that they will take it all away from us.
I asked the six girls to tell stories; I did not ask for their opinions. Different testimonies emerged: if one of them had lived for six or seven years under communism, she had different fears and desires from someone descended from Alexander the Great.
For these girls, telling the story of their father is very important. Their fathers… all the way back to Alexander the Great. And the word “father” has the same semantic root as the word “homeland.” […]
