GDYNIA. FORDEWIND | Teatr Miejski im. Gombrowicza w Gdyni

Adaptacja Artur Pałyga, na podstawie reportażu Aleksandry Boćkowskiej

„Gdynia. Fordewind”  to  teatralna opowieść o mieście w nieustannym ruchu, pchanym wiatrem ambicji, marzeń i nowoczesnych obietnic. Realizatorzy zaglądają do nadmorskich piwnic, pukają w okna deweloperów i porywają widzów w podróż, której rytm wyznaczają śpiew i kołysanie fal.

GDYNIA. FORDEWIND | Witold Gombrowicz Municipal Theatre in Gdynia

Adapted by Artur Pałyga, based on the reportage by Aleksandra Boćkowska

“Gdynia. Fordewind” is a theatrical tale of a city in constant motion, driven by the winds of ambition, dreams, and the promises of modernity. It tells the story of people, their memories, fears, and transformation. At the heart of the performance lies the fordewind—a seemingly perfect wind that carries sailors precisely where they wish to go, yet conceals genuine danger beneath its promise. This becomes the central metaphor of the production.

The true stories of the protagonists from the original reportage intertwine with fictional characters created by the playwright in the stage adaptation. The creators venture into seaside basements, knock on the windows of property developers, and take the audience on a journey whose rhythm is shaped by song and the gentle sway of the waves. The narrative blends humor with music, singing, and dance.

The production was created as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the City of Gdynia. It is both a theatrical gift to the city and the first large-scale ensemble production under the new artistic leadership of the Gdynia City Theatre. The theatre's vision is to promote Polish literature and contemporary playwriting while creating performances that engage with history and contemporary identity through current theatrical languages and conventions, embracing a broad spectrum of genres.

TRAMWAJ ZWANY POŻĄDANIEM | Teatr Ludowy w Krakowie

Tennessee Williams

Schowane emocje, niewypowiedziane pragnienia i strategie przetrwania – każdy bohater „Tramwaju…” nosi je w sobie.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE | Ludowy Theatre, Kraków

by Tennessee Williams

Hidden emotions, unspoken desires, and strategies for survival lie at the heart of every character in A Streetcar Named Desire. Though profoundly different, Blanche and Stella both escape into fantasy and dependency rather than confront the truth. Illusions offer them a fleeting sense of security, yet they ultimately shatter under the force of passion. This production guides the audience through the intimate labyrinths of its characters, revealing what we most often conceal from the world—our deepest longings and fears.

BACHANTKI | Akademia Sztuk Teatralnych im. St. Wyspiańskiego w Krakowie

Spektakl dyplomowy studentów IV roku Wydziału Teatru Tańca w Bytomiu

„Spektakl dyplomowy inspirowany Eurypidesem to opowieść o zemście, o potrzebie bycia widzianym i energii seksualnej jako siły życiowej. Dionizos i Penteus reprezentują skrajne postawy. A to sprawia, że wewnętrzne konflikty narastają wewnątrz członków rodziny i społeczności, dochodząc do eskalacji i rozładowania, często niosącego tragiczne skutki.

THE BACCHAE | The S. Wyspiański National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków

Graduation Production by Fourth-Year Students of the Dance Theatre Department in Bytom

"Inspired by Euripides, this graduation production is a story of revenge, the need to be seen, and sexual energy as a vital life force. Dionysus and Pentheus embody opposing extremes. Through his uninhibited sexual expression, Dionysus exposes and shames Pentheus, whose actions are driven by fear, while Dionysus acts with audacity and provocation. Both characters respond reactively to the circumstances they encounter. Entangled in family conflicts, they knowingly—or unknowingly—become participants in struggles rooted in the pursuit of power.

The Bacchae explores the role of family secrets and the consequences they impose on an entire bloodline. The burden of hidden truths causes family members to unconsciously inherit fragments of pain, grief, and sorrow that can never be openly expressed. As a result, internal conflicts intensify within both the family and the wider community, escalating until they find release—often with tragic consequences. Sexual energy is thus redirected toward the discharge of emotional tension rather than the expression of love and happiness."

Choreographer Daniela Komędera, together with director Daria Kopiec, composer Aleksandra Gronowska, and the acting ensemble, reinterprets Euripides' text through a contemporary lens, revisiting the timeless themes of the classical tragedy: the divine within the human being, revenge, passion, conflict, desire, fear, and envy. The production also examines the role of victimhood as a concealed form of revenge.

Córki Leara | Teatr im. Bogusławskiego w Kaliszu

Elaine Feinstein

Historia przedstawiona w "Córkach Leara" to opowieść o toksycznej miłości, rywalizacji i o walce o uwolnienie się spod władzy surowego ojca. Elaine Feinstein, autorka sztuki, wykorzystuje znane szekspirowskie postaci, by na nowo opowiedzieć o skomplikowanych relacjach rodzinnych.

Lear's Daughters | Bogusławski Theatre in Kalisz

by Elaine Feinstein

Lear's Daughters tells the story of three sisters—Cordelia, Regan, and Goneril—who have grown up in the shadow of their despotic father and struggle to free themselves from his overwhelming influence. The play explores themes of toxic love, sibling rivalry, and the fight to escape the authority of a domineering father. Drawing on Shakespeare's iconic characters, playwright Elaine Feinstein reimagines their story to examine the complexities of family relationships from a fresh perspective. Raised at the royal court, the sisters seek liberation from a father who demands absolute loyalty and unquestioning obedience. Can they break free from the legacy of their childhood and take control of their own lives? Lear's Daughters brings Shakespeare's dramatic conflicts into a contemporary context, revealing how parental pressure and expectations continue to shape children's lives well into adulthood. It is a powerful story of inner struggle, the need to confront the ghosts of childhood, and the emotional price the sisters pay in their pursuit of independence.

SOLARIS  | Bałtycki Teatr Dramatyczny w Koszalinie

Monodram Beaty Niedzieli

Solarystyczna opowieść Stanisława Lema została przełożona na język monodramu. Kelvin, główny bohater, ucieka przed życiem i relacjami w pracę.

SOLARIS | Baltic Drama Theatre in Koszalin

Monodrama performed by Beata Niedziela

Stanisław Lem's iconic Solaris has been reimagined as a monodrama. Kelvin, the protagonist, escapes from life and human relationships by immersing himself in his work. His greatest ambition—the goal to which he devotes many years of his life—is to reach the planet Solaris, whose mysteries have long eluded scientific understanding.

The isolation and alienation he experiences aboard the space station become a catalyst for confronting his inner turmoil. His relentless dedication to work has been an attempt to suppress the trauma of his beloved's suicide. Only the extraordinary events that unfold on Solaris unexpectedly create the conditions for him to encounter his true self and begin to free himself from this devastating loss.

The monodrama form powerfully reveals how the people we love and the experiences that shape us become an inseparable part of who we are. The performance is a metaphysical journey into the protagonist's inner world, seeking answers not only in the tangible reality of facts and memories but, above all, by delving into the depths of our transcendental nature.

The production received the Jury Prize in the "Amber Ring" (Bursztynowy Pierścień) Theatre Awards, earning the title of Best Theatre Production of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship for the 2023/2024 season.

In 2025, the performance was presented at three prestigious theatre festivals: the 65th Kalisz Theatre Meetings, the "Mała Czarna" Women's Monodrama Festival in Bielsko-Biała, and the 49th Opole Theatre Confrontations – "Living Classics" Festival.

"(...) Aleksandra Gronowska's music intensifies the atmosphere of unease that inevitably accompanies our encounter with the unknown—with the Other. As we await the resolution of this horror-like mystery, we are confronted with our own fears. And we come to realize that no one but ourselves is capable of overcoming them."

„Spektakl mocno łapie za serce podniosłą atmosferą, budowaną głównie za pomocą nastrojowej muzyki i wizualizacji.”

"The production grips the audience with its deeply moving, elevated atmosphere, created above all through its evocative music and visual projections."

https://e-teatr.pl/guldapoleca-solaris-49308

„Solaris okazuje się opowieścią Kobiety. Dziewczyny, Żony, Matki. Podległej prawom śmierci, ale nieskończenie nieodgadnionej, wiecznej. Jednającej nas z Kosmosem. Cóż, to się czuje od początku. Koszalińskie „Solaris” to dzieło kobiet. Stworzyła je przecież nie tylko Daria Wiktoria Kopiec (reżyserka i autorka scenografii), lecz i adaptatorka Martyna Lechman, twórczyni kostiumów Patrycja Fitzet, muzyki (kosmicznej, „szerokiej” a intymnej) Aleksandra Gronowska, choreografka Helena Ganjalyan oraz kreatorka obrazów wideo Magdalena Parszewska. No i oczywiście Beata Niedziela.”

"Solaris ultimately becomes the story of a Woman. A Daughter, a Wife, a Mother. Subject to the laws of death, yet infinitely mysterious and eternal. A figure who reconciles us with the Cosmos. You can sense this from the very beginning. The Koszalin production of Solaris is a work created by women. It was brought to life not only by Daria Wiktoria Kopiec (director and set designer), but also by adaptor Martyna Lechman, costume designer Patrycja Fitzet, composer Aleksandra Gronowska—whose music is cosmic, expansive, yet deeply intimate—choreographer Helena Ganjalyan, video artist Magdalena Parszewska, and, of course, Beata Niedziela."

Kolejna para tworzy pełen napięć i oczekiwań dojrzały związek. A trzecia, najstarsza, wśród wzajemnych wyrzutów dokonuje rozrachunku wielu lat wspólnego życia, przywołuje bolesne doświadczenia i niezakończone sprawy.

"The Order of the Waves" is a portrait of a woman and a man after many years of sharing a life together. Their relationship unfolds on stage through three couples, each representing a different stage of life. The youngest couple is immersed in the euphoria of first love, romantic declarations, and a wedding. The second portrays a mature relationship marked by tension, expectations, and everyday struggles. The oldest couple, burdened by years of shared history, confronts one another with mutual reproaches as they reckon with painful memories, unresolved conflicts, and the weight of the past. The river serves as a powerful symbol of the passage of time, carrying away everything it encounters along its course.

DZIEJE GRZECHU. OPOWIEDZIANE NA NOWO  | Teatr im. Heleny Modrzejewskiej w Legnicy

THE STORY OF A SIN. RETOLD Helena Modrzejewska Theatre in Legnica

Artur Pałyga has created, based on Stefan Żeromski's novel, a story that speaks equally to the original work and to the present day. The questions posed by the great writer more than a century ago remain strikingly relevant. What is the true "sin" of the protagonist? Is Ewa "cast out of paradise" because she falls in love with the wrong man, because she allows herself to experience sexual fulfillment, or because she commits murder? Or is her greatest fault the fact that her entire life revolves around her lover? Is there such a thing as forbidden love? How does Żeromski's novel resonate with contemporary reality? Does the word sin still carry any meaning today? And if so, what does it mean?

Awards

3rd Festival of Masterpieces – 62nd Rzeszów Theatre Meetings

Award for Creating a Haunting and Profound Soundscape for "The Story of Sin. Retold" (directed by Daria Kopiec), in which the relationships between the characters from Stefan Żeromski's novel acquire a metaphysical dimension. The award was presented to Aleksandra Gronowska and Michał Litwiniec.

Grand Prize of the Festival of Masterpieces ("Wanda" Award) for "The Story of Sin. Retold", directed by Daria Kopiec and produced by the Modrzejewska Theatre in Legnica, for a moving and remarkably faithful interpretation of the original work. The jury praised the production for transforming an ostensibly outdated story about a twentieth-century heroine into the essence of a compelling contemporary narrative that reflects the realities of women's lives today, revealing how much remains to be done in this regard. The jury also expressed its admiration for every artistic element of the production, which, brought together with exceptional mastery, created what can truly be described as a masterpiece.

Przedstawia ona naszego rodaka przebywającego w Wenecji. Traf chciał, że zupełnie przypadkiem spotyka on słynną aktorkę Monizę Clavier, która okazuje mu swoje zainteresowanie. Wkrótce owa "schematyczna" sytuacja przeradza się w klasyczny romans. Bohater, typowa "dusza słowiańska", trafia do ekskluzywnego grona arystokracji Zachodu, zafascynowanej jego orientalnością. Musi on to zainteresowanie za wszelką cenę podtrzymać. Zabawne, ironiczne, momentami gorzkie opowiadanie.

Moniza Clavier A Radio Drama Produced by Polish Radio Theatre

by Sławomir Mrożek

Sławomir Mrożek's brilliant short story is not only a landmark of satirical literature but also an important contribution to literature as a whole. Moniza Clavier belongs to a long tradition of literary reflections on Polish identity. The story follows a Polish man staying in Venice who, by pure chance, meets the famous actress Moniza Clavier. To his surprise, she takes an interest in him, and what begins as a seemingly conventional encounter soon develops into a classic love affair. The protagonist—a quintessential "Slavic soul"—finds himself welcomed into the exclusive circles of the Western aristocracy, who are fascinated by his perceived exoticism. Determined to sustain their fascination at any cost, he gradually assumes the role they expect of him: the passionate lover, the mysterious man from the eastern steppes, the martyr who has suffered for freedom—as, after all, a Pole is presumed to have done. At its heart, the story explores the question of self-definition when we are unable—or unwilling—to define ourselves in relation to others. Witty, ironic, and at times deeply poignant, Moniza Clavier is both an entertaining and thought-provoking reflection on identity, stereotypes, and the roles we choose to play.

„(…) Muzyka (Aleksandra Gronowska) wydobywa poetyckość oryginalnego tekstu.

"(...) The music (by Aleksandra Gronowska) brings out the poetic quality of the original text. The songs of the jungle are worth listening to—regardless of your age."

Excerpt from a review by Katarzyna Bolec for the e-teatr.pl portal

„(…) Zachowała pani taką tantryczność tej muzyki, ona wyznacza pewnie rytm zachowania aktorów, rytm tańca, rytm poruszania się zwierząt, to wszystko konstytuuje muzyka tak naprawdę. (…)

"(...) You have preserved an almost tantric quality in the music. It establishes the rhythm of the actors' performances, the rhythm of the choreography, the movement of the animals—it is the music that truly shapes all of this. (...) It is wonderful that the music is present throughout the performance. Even when it does not form conventional harmonies, these sounds belong to the world of the characters. Its illustrative quality is important, yet it remains subtle. The audience is immersed in a particular atmosphere from beginning to end. The music is absolutely captivating. (...) Your score also introduces the individual characters with remarkable delicacy. Certain musical motifs are closely associated with the appearance of the panther or the tiger; the music almost summons them into the story. It serves as a subtle cue to the audience: 'here is a new character'—a beautiful example of classical compositional craft. (...) The songs are beautiful, some of them deeply lyrical. (...) You have created an outstanding synthesis of what unfolds on stage and what is heard from it."

Syrena. Anatomia miłości | Wrocławski Teatr Współczesny

Zuzanna Bojda / Amanda Lee Koe

Korzystająca ze świata realizmu magicznego opowieść o „odmieńcu”. Odrzucany i dręczony przez rówieśników transseksualny chłopiec poszukuje własnej tożsamości płciowej. Wchodzi w dorosłość, doświadczając pierwszych pragnień i upokorzeń.

The Mermaid: Anatomy of Love | Wrocław Contemporary Theatre

Zuzanna Bojda / Amanda Lee Koe

Drawing on the aesthetics of magical realism, this production tells the story of an "outsider." Rejected and bullied by his peers, a transgender boy searches for his own gender identity. As he comes of age, he experiences his first desires and humiliations. In a world of lonely people, he longs for unconditional love and the chance to be loved. As an adult, he is forced to confront his former abuser once again. The production brings together realistic characters and hybrid figures drawn from mythology, intertwining the human world with the world of plants to create a poetic and dreamlike theatrical landscape.

The performance features live music performed by composers Aleksandra Gronowska and Michał Litwiniec.

„Ogromną rolę w projekcie odgrywa muzyka. Jest równorzędnym partnerem aktorów. Utalentowany Michał Litwiniec potrafi zagrać na każdym instrumencie. Niczym kapłan tajemniczego obrzędu wydobywa z przedmiotów niepokojące dźwięki. Aleksandra Gronowska śpiewa, jakby oddychała. Oboje w skupieniu toczą porywające dialogi z aktorami i rozwijają z nimi słowno-muzyczne narracje.”

"Music plays an essential role in this production. It is an equal partner to the actors. The immensely talented Michał Litwiniec seems capable of playing any instrument. Like a priest conducting a mysterious ritual, he conjures unsettling sounds from everyday objects. Aleksandra Gronowska sings as naturally as if she were breathing. Together, with remarkable focus, they engage in captivating dialogues with the actors, weaving spoken and musical narratives into a seamless whole."

"All of this is enriched by absolutely outstanding live music performed by Aleksandra Gronowska and Michał Litwiniec, who make use of a range of unconventional instruments. Their performance does far more than provide an atmospheric soundtrack to the actors' work—it frequently comes to the forefront in its own right."

Wydaje się ona z jednej strony wpisywać postaci w określony rytm i tempo, niejako narzucając sposób ruchu (…), a z drugiej przynosi widzowi poczucie wytchnienia i spokoju (…).

"The production's diversity is particularly compelling in the scenes accompanied by the live music of Aleksandra Gronowska and Michał Litwiniec. On one hand, the music seems to inscribe the characters into a specific rhythm and tempo, almost dictating the way they move (...). On the other, it offers the audience moments of relief and tranquility (...). This contrast could, of course, be interpreted in relation to the director's exploration of the tension between culture and nature. Yet I have the impression that, in The Mermaid, the music possesses an autonomous artistic value entirely of its own."

"I have saved my greatest admiration and deepest respect for last—for the creators of the musical score. Michał Litwiniec and Aleksandra Gronowska are not merely an accompanying ensemble; they are the living tissue of this performance, a sensitive musical organism that listens, responds, and breathes with every moment on stage."

Speak About Yourself, Only Yourself | Wrocław Pantomime Theatre

Inspired by Tadeusz Różewicz's short story "Sin"

Tadeusz Różewicz's short story "Sin" serves as the inspiration for an exploration of whether traces of the post-war model of upbringing, marked by trauma, continue to shape the ways we build relationships today. What are the intergenerational consequences of emotional neglect? How is the silence surrounding the experience of war still passed down from one generation to the next? "Speak About Yourself, Only Yourself" can be understood both as a desperate manifesto born of the impossibility of truly understanding another person and as a call for an honest confrontation with oneself. Here, silence becomes a painful strategy for survival. Immersed in the routines of everyday domestic life, the characters enact unspoken conflicts, projections, and desires, revealing the emotional tensions that lie beneath the surface of ordinary existence.

„(…) Zamiatanie szybko przeistacza się w porywającą choreografię banalnej codzienności, a wszystko to rozgrywa się w metafizycznym pejzażu dźwiękowym. Borkowskiemu towarzyszą w zamiataniu trzy znakomite muzyczki. Patrycja Betley dmie w tradycyjny instrument chiński z tykwy. Betley to wybitna multi-perkusjonistka.

"(...) Sweeping the floor quickly transforms into a captivating choreography of everyday life, all unfolding within a metaphysical soundscape. Borkowski is accompanied by three outstanding musicians. Patrycja Betley plays the traditional Chinese hulusi, a gourd wind instrument. Aleksandra Gronowska creates music with her voice. Katarzyna Kapela experiments with the violin. The juxtaposition of mundane daily routines and deeply spiritual music works brilliantly. As in Różewicz's poetry, ordinary domestic activity becomes a form of philosophy. Betley, an exceptional multi-percussionist, gradually conjures magnificent polyrhythmic fugues. Gronowska explores archaic vocal techniques and breath work, and in one scene transforms into a Mongolian shaman, singing overtone harmonies in dialogue with herself. Kapela interweaves the first outlines of melodies on the violin."

"Special attention should be paid to the live music. The three musicians perform on a wide array of instruments, combining strings, electronics, and found objects. They do far more than create an ambient soundtrack—they provide a counterpoint to the stage action and enrich it. The music is inseparably fused with the actors' movements; every sound has been meticulously integrated into the choreography and resonates alongside it. The collaboration between the musicians and the mimes is extraordinary. It is truly a collaboration, not a competition for the audience's attention. The trio seems to dance together with the performers on stage, and witnessing their shared work is immensely rewarding. Wrocław's stages have not seen such an attentive, responsive, deeply connected ensemble—one that seems to breathe as a single organism for an entire hour—in a very long time."

To niebywałe! „

"The live music performed by Aleksandra Gronowska, Patrycja Betley, and Katarzyna Kapela is phenomenal. The sounds of countless instruments—many of which I had never even known existed—accompany every smallest movement. They are inseparably connected to the performers' actions and dedicated to them. It is astonishing. The music imitates everything the actors do, from the sound of breathing while touching their hair to the opening and closing of drawers. Every moment is densely layered. This wordless theatre employs an extraordinary range of expressive means with remarkable precision, never overwhelming the audience or overshadowing the superb acting. This is not merely an engaging performance—it is an extraordinary musical feast. These immensely gifted artists are simply hypnotic."

"(...) The musical trio of Patrycja Betley, Aleksandra Gronowska, and Katarzyna Kapela is absolutely brilliant. It has been a long time since I have witnessed such a creative coexistence between actors and musicians. Together they create the sound of an entire orchestra, producing everything from subtle sonic textures that help shape the theatrical space to exquisitely beautiful melodies with an almost ethnic, meditative quality. There is even a moment when Aleksandra Gronowska, like a Mongolian shaman, sings using overtone techniques—and suddenly the performance reaches pure metaphysics. (...) There are only three musicians, yet they sound like a full orchestra. At the same time, they never steal the spotlight. They are so attuned to the actors that when an actor takes a breath, they breathe with them. It is impossible to describe—you simply have to experience it."

"The music, performed live from beginning to end, completes the entire production. The talent of these women is extraordinary—they immerse themselves in the story, working alongside the actors to convey its deepest intentions. Significantly, these are not familiar pieces repurposed for the stage. Instead, the music becomes an equal partner to the performers, expressing thoughts and emotions the characters cannot articulate aloud. It shapes the tempo and rhythm while masterfully building and releasing dramatic tension.

The musicians themselves also deserve special recognition. Aleksandra Gronowska, Patrycja Betley, and Katarzyna Kapela bring remarkable energy and remain intensely attentive to every development on stage, allowing the performance to remain alive throughout its more than hour-long duration. The sonic world of the production is unmistakably experimental. Alongside musical instruments, the performers use the human voice as an instrument in its own right. Repeated vocal patterns, breath work, and expressive cries respond directly to the actors' movements. The concentration visible in the musicians' eyes as they react to every shift in the performance is a testament to extraordinary ensemble work. The overall effect is nothing short of magical."

"Zwykłe dźwięki" to też muzyka. My tu proponujemy dialog muzyki z grą aktorską. Podczas pracy nad tą premierą cały czas konsultowaliśmy z aktorami naszą muzykę. Proponujemy coś a oni reagują, nasza muzyka ich inspiruje, a oni nas. W przypadku tego spektaklu, najczęściej to oni nas inspirują - tłumaczy Gronowska.”

"'Ordinary sounds' are music as well. In this production, music encompasses the entire sonic landscape of everything that happens on stage. Everything we do becomes part of the score, even when the instruments recreate the sounds of objects used by the characters but invisible to the audience. In the scene where a couple unfolds a dining table, the table itself is amplified so that every creak and movement becomes part of the music," explains Aleksandra Gronowska, co-composer of the live score. "Our work with the actors was a shared creative process, because the performance and the music exist as equal partners. That is a fundamental difference from simply playing recorded music. What we offer is a dialogue between music and acting. Throughout the rehearsal process we constantly discussed our music with the actors. We proposed ideas, they responded; our music inspired them, and they inspired us. In this production, more often than not, it was they who inspired us."

TAO droga Smoka | Szkoła Tańca z Wachlarzami Bojowymi

Spektakl filozoficzny

TAO: The Way of the Dragon | School of Martial Fan Dance

A Philosophical Performance

The Dragon is a humble librarian at the court of a king of the Zhou dynasty. He does not see his work as a prison, but follows his own path—the Tao. His only true possession is wisdom.

When the Dragon decides to leave the kingdom, the Guardian at the border orders him to write down all of his wisdom. This becomes his passage to a hermitage among the Hangu Hills. Thus, the words of the Daodejing—the timeless foundational text of Taoism—come into being.

This journey into the philosophy of the Far East offers a compelling reflection on the greatest challenges of the contemporary West. The contrast between tranquility and chaos, the relentless pace of urban life, synchronization, productivity, and the pursuit of power and possessions is set against the need to pause, seek balance, and live in harmony.

The performance features live music composed and performed by Aleksandra Gronowska, Patrycja Betley, and Justyna Jary.

On the Other Side | Jubilo

“On the Other Side” is the next step in Jubilo Foundation’s three-year research on the themes of freedom and seclusion. How can artists become active witnesses of encounters (e.g. with migrants or behind prison walls) and, through performative tools, transform the themes, the stories and the faces met on their journey to make them speak to a broader audience?

The research started by interrogating the theme of ‘personal prisons’, that is ‘prisons’ no longer perceived as imposed from the outside, by someone else (for example public institutions), but as often unconscious restrictions that we impose on ourselves, unaware of our social and cultural conditioning. Starting from the individual dimension, the group opened their observation towards a broader horizon, contextualizing their questions about the current condition of our society. On one hand, we observe a world with clearly defined boundaries, where conflict grows and separation is given as an answer. On the other hand, we see a constant need to pursue relations, to open up possibilities and to search for an authentic dialogue between one person and another.
